The Blancpain Léman Big Date (ref. 2850-1127-53) is a refined Swiss dress watch from one of horology's oldest and most prestigious maisons. The ultra-slim 40mm polished stainless steel case features downturned lugs and a stepped bezel, with a screwed-down exhibition caseback and crown. The white dial carries applied bevelled index hour markers with luminous dot indicators, polished skeletonised steel hands with luminous tips, and a seconds hand with a red tip, with a large double-date window positioned at 6 o'clock. Power comes from the self-winding Blancpain Calibre 6950, rhodium-plated with fausses côtes embellishment, 35 jewels and 285 components, a straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a double barrel delivering a generous 70-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. Understated, elegant, and supremely well-finished — a true expression of Geneva watchmaking at its finest.
