Details & Specifications
Description:
The Daniel Roth Numero 518 Masters Chronograph reference S247 is one of the most distinctive expressions of independent Swiss watchmaking from the 1990s. Built around Daniel Roth's signature double-ellipse case in stainless steel — a form that balances between round and rectangular with a sculptural precision that remains wholly his own — the watch carries a forest green guilloché dial that is among the rarest colour variants in the S247 family. The hand-engraved pinstripe pattern across the dial surface catches light at every angle, framed by a brushed chapter ring bearing Roman numerals and complemented by three chronograph subdials: running seconds at 9 o'clock, 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, with a date aperture between 4 and 5 o'clock.
Three distinct hand shapes animate the dial in true Daniel Roth fashion — arrow-shaped hour and minute hands, lance-shaped subdial hands, and an anchor-shaped chronograph seconds hand — all rendered in blued steel against the deep green surface. Power comes from the automatic Calibre DR500, a movement based on the celebrated Zenith El Primero architecture, assembled by hand in Daniel Roth's Vallée de Joux workshop and offering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The exhibition caseback allows a full view of the movement's finishing.
