With its clean and sober style, the Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5196P-001 is a direct descendant of the original Calatrava ref. 96 from 1932, considered one of the most desirable time-only watches among collectors for its two-tone dial and applied Breguet numerals, a layout that also echoes the classic ref. 570. The 37mm platinum case features a crown signed with a raised Calatrava cross and a solid case back with a frosted finish, engraved with Patek Philippe hallmarks. The two-tone silvery-grey dial is paired with elegant feuille hands indicating the hours and minutes, alongside a small seconds sub-dial. Powered by the manually wound Calibre 215 PS, the movement is decorated with Côtes de Genève and perlage finishing and bears the Geneva Seal. The watch is fitted with a black alligator leather strap and a signed platinum tang buckle.
