The Rolex Explorer reference 124270 carries on the clean, purposeful design that has defined the model since 1953, when it was created for mountaineers and explorers who needed a rugged, highly legible tool watch. Updated in 2021, this current-generation 36mm case returns to the classic Mercedes hour hand paired with the signature 3, 6, 9 Arabic numerals and luminous baton markers for excellent legibility in any condition. The Oystersteel case is finished with a smooth bezel, and the watch is powered by the automatic Calibre 3230, delivering a 70-hour power reserve, a Chronergy escapement, and Superlative Chronometer certification. Fitted on the sturdy Oyster bracelet, the Explorer 36 remains as much at home on an expedition as it is in everyday wear.
