Description:
The Breitling Emergency Orbiter 3 is a rare and highly collectible aviation timepiece released to commemorate the historic first non-stop balloon flight around the world by the Breitling-sponsored Orbiter 3 mission. Crafted from lightweight titanium and equipped with Breitling's built-in emergency distress beacon transmitting on the 121.5 MHz aviation emergency frequency, this limited-edition model combines professional survival functionality with distinctive aerospace-inspired design. The 43mm titanium case houses a multifunction analog and digital display, with a flyback chronograph, second time zone, alarm, and a perpetual calendar showing date, day, month, and year. The blue dial features luminous Arabic numerals and indexes alongside the Orbiter 3 logo and digital display apertures, powered by the COSC-certified, thermocompensated Breitling Calibre 56 quartz movement. Produced in just 1,999 pieces worldwide, the Orbiter 3 edition stands as a tribute to exploration, innovation, and one of the most remarkable achievements in modern aviation history.
This piece presents in mint condition, circa 2003, with its full box and papers, including its briefcase set, VHS tape, balloon model, booklets, warranty, old service papers, and transmitter, along with new 2026 service papers from Breitling following a full overhaul.
