Description

Released in 2023, the Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton "Night Surfer" ref. 97.9300.3620/79.I001 is a collaboration between Zenith and Time+Tide Watches — one of the watch world's most respected independent media outlets — and one of only 200 examples ever produced. It represents a compelling evolution of the Defy Skyline Skeleton, taking the core architecture of that watch and translating it through a nocturnal, ocean-inspired lens: the open-worked dial is bathed in deep night blue, with the iconic Zenith four-pointed star at its centre and a rubber strap embossed with a star pattern in the same signature hue.

 Like all Defy Skyline Skeleton references, the watch is powered by the El Primero 3620 SK — a skeletonised, high-frequency automatic calibre beating at 36,000 vph (5Hz), offering the very first 1/10th of a second indication in a Zenith production movement. The sub-dial at 6 o'clock completes one full revolution every 10 seconds, a mesmerising complication that makes the movement's extraordinary beat rate visible to the naked eye. The silicon escape wheel and lever, visible through the fully open dial, speak to Zenith's commitment to modern horological engineering.

The 41mm octagonal brushed titanium case integrates seamlessly with a microblasted titanium bracelet — a premium alternative to the stainless steel of the standard reference — and is accompanied by an additional night blue rubber strap with folding clasp, ensuring a versatile wearing experience.

 Limited to just 200 pieces worldwide and sold exclusively through Time+Tide and Zenith's online boutiques, this is a highly collectible piece with genuine provenance and scarcity. This example is in mint, unworn condition with original Zenith box and papers.
