Details & Specifications
Description
OTSUKA LOTEC's No.5 KAI, designed by self-taught Japanese watchmaker Jiro Katayama, features a distinctive satellite (wandering) hour display — an exotic complication more commonly associated with high-end Swiss independents such as Urwerk.
Built on a Miyota 90S5 automatic movement with an in-house satellite hour module, three rotating satellites each carry four printed hour numerals that also serve as minute pointers against the chapter ring. The openworked dial exposes portions of the movement, while a small seconds disc sits at 5:30. The defining visual element is a dramatically domed, panoramic box sapphire crystal, which rises well above the bezel-free case edge — the case measures 7.6mm thick without the crystal, and 12.2mm in total height.
