Description

The Seiko Presage Classic Series HCC003 — named "Sakura-iro" (桜色), the delicate blush pink of cherry blossom petals — is perhaps the most poetic expression in the Tomioka Silk quartet, pairing one of Japan's most beloved seasonal colours with the refined texture of finely woven Tomioka silk from Gunma Prefecture.

The dial's soft pink hue is drawn directly from the fleeting beauty of sakura in bloom, rendered with a subtle wavy concentric texture that evokes the graceful drape and luminous sheen of silk fabric. As light plays across the surface, the texture comes alive — shifting and shimmering with every movement of the wrist in a way that a flat, printed dial simply cannot replicate.

Where the HCC001 and HCC002 are paired with steel bracelets, the HCC003 takes a warmer, more intimate direction with a deep brown leather strap sourced from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, its colour inspired by the rich trunk of the cherry tree — a considered detail that ties the entire aesthetic together beautifully.

 The 38mm stainless steel case with Seiko's super-hard Diashield coating features polished case sides, brushed lug tops, and a fully polished stepped bezel, striking an ideal balance between elegance and everyday wearability. The in-house Calibre 6R51, visible through the exhibition screw case back, offers an impressive 72-hour power reserve at 21,600 vph.

 A portion of proceeds supports the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization, contributing to the preservation of Japan's centuries-old sericulture tradition. This example presents in like new condition with full box and papers.
