The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding ref. 15450ST.OO.1256ST.02 is the mid-size 37mm expression of Gérald Genta's 1972 design, presented in a ruthenium-toned "Grande Tapisserie" dial. The larger hobnail guilloché pattern, in a deep grey-black metallic tone, lends the watch a seriousness and depth distinct from the more common blue and grey dial variants. Applied white gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating provide high-contrast legibility, with the date window sitting discreetly at 3 o'clock. The 37mm stainless steel case is finished with satin-brushed surfaces and mirror-polished chamfers, and the octagonal bezel is secured by eight white gold hexagonal screws. Through the glareproofed sapphire exhibition caseback, the Calibre 3120 — a 40-jewel, 280-part manufacture automatic movement operating at 21,600 vph with a 60-hour power reserve — is fully visible. The fully integrated stainless steel bracelet, with alternating brushed and mirror-polished links, is secured by an AP double folding deployant clasp.
