Details & Specifications
Description:
The Villemont Solar Navigator is a rugged exploration watch born from the historic partnership between Villemont and Amundsen Oslo, honoring the polar-exploration legacy of Roald Amundsen. This example features a stainless steel case with a silver dial bearing the "Amundsen" stamp, fitted on a black rubber strap for extreme-condition durability. Beyond telling the time, the watch's signature bezel houses a Solar Navigation System — a manual, battery-free navigation tool that allows the wearer to determine direction using only the sun's position and the watch's hour hand, a technique adapted from traditional polar exploration methods. The self-winding mechanical movement also drives a date display, alarm function, and compass, all housed under a sapphire crystal and rated to 200 meters water resistance, making this a true instrument watch built for extreme environments.
