Details & Specifications
Description:
This watch draws directly from Zenith's deep aviation roots, tracing back to 1909 when French aviator Louis Blériot crossed the English Channel. The "Type 20" name references historical military aviation specifications. Everything about it is designed to evoke a golden-age cockpit instrument — bold, legible, purposeful.
The 45mm stainless steel case features screwed-on lugs and a satin-brushed finish that contrasts against the mirror-polished bezel. The large onion-shaped crown is ratcheted and fluted — a hallmark of historical aviator watches designed to be operated with pilot's gloves on.
The matte black dial carries oversized Arabic numerals in Super-Luminova SLN C1 for excellent low-light readability, complemented by satin-finished, ruthenium-plated "cathedral" style hands also filled with luminous material. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the solid caseback is engraved with the Zenith "Flying Instruments" logo.
The automatic Calibre Zenith 3000 is composed of 126 parts, beating at 28,800 vph (4Hz), with a 42-hour power reserve. This is a Sellita-based movement rather than an in-house Zenith calibre — a deliberate decision to keep the price accessible.
